I'm trying to decide if I should:

1. Buy a second body (30D)
2. Sell 120-300 and 70-200 and pair with saved cash for EF 300 2.8L IS.

I shoot mainly sports, so either option is a good one I would say.

Hmmm good question. What would you need a second body for?

That's a tough decision, giving up two lenses for one? I don't know what I would do... Ummm probably just keep what ya got and keep saving money.

I'd throw the 120-300 on the 30D and the 70-200 on the 20D. A 70-200 is important when the plays get close to you.

I have entire season home credentials for Texas Tech football so I want to make the best of it while I can.

I'd stick with what you have. It's not too shabby. Besides - do you *need* or just want something else?

I'm probably going to get the second body. Hopefully I can put the BG-E2 on the 30D?

Yes - this time round Canon have kept grip compatibility. The 20D's grip (BG-E2) works on the 30D, and the XT/350D's grip (BG-E3) works on the XTi/400D.

I'm not so sure anymore, I probably wont sell my lenses. I'm either going to get a 30D or 16-35.

I CANT DECIDE!!

For now, I've put most money into lenses. Bodies will be superseded and my 20D is doing fine. Lens technology moves on much more slowly.

As a result, I now own EF 16-35mm f/2.8L, EF 24-70mm f/2.8L and EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS. There's some other items I hope to buy over the next year or so (flash bracket, reflectors, possibly a 1.4x Extender II, possibly an EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM and maybe a second Speedlite), but I'm holding back on another body.

The 30D was little more than a facelift of the 20D, and I'm waiting to see what happens in the future with full frame (though unless CMOS production technology improves, full frame sensors will remain expensive as they require three exposures in the scanner at the fab).
