I have an S2IS and love the cam. I thought the Canon Powershot logo strap was comfy and adequate for the lightweight cam. When I arrive at the site to begin shooting I check all the settings and adjust according to the available light condidions. That means simply slinging the Canon over my head and dumping the cap, turning on and start looking for wildlife.Bummer day last month when I started walking and felt the camera strap slide off my neck. I was on pavement and heard the bang. I picked the S2 up my its one fastened strap and turned it on to see the lens advance mechanism not working. I lost the cam to the repair center for three weeks and $220 in repair costs. The slippery nylon strap supplied is junk with a poor buckle. Not wanting to repeat this I stitched the strap above and below the buckles with coat thread.

I have my strap attached exactly as it is pictured in the manual. No matter how hard I pull, it does not budge.

I have the Op Tech strap, the same that POTN shop have for sale, and it works great with the S2, is wider than the Canon one, and very very comfortable
