I try to take pictures in the gyms when my daughter has games, with terrible luck. When I take the pictures in the gym with the light colored wood as the background the picutres turn out extremely dark and grainy. Any ideas.
Thanks

I do not think the flash is powerful enough for low light/long distance situations.
i have the S45 excellent camera in daylight also in close up in Low Light. but not practical in lowlight large space.

So what I really should have purchased was either a G3 or a G5 so that I could attach the larger flash? I suppose I should sell the S50 and purchase on of those. I there another option such as an external flash? Thanks for you response.

You might first give it a try with shooting RAW and correcting the exposure later!
You can salvage underexposed shots a lot better in RAW than in JPG.

PS: That's what I mean!
With BreezeBrowser, you can correct this

to look like this

when shot in RAW!

Thanks I will give that a try. I am new to digital photography and it is a little trickier than I thought. Used Canon 35 mm for 30+ years and am now converting to digital.
