   Boy was I mad! Last week Friday at Sandals I got there early and the morning light was sensational. Grabbed the camera and started shooting, then stopped to review, and the screen was telling me "No CF Card!" I'd left it in the card reader on my desk at home. So yesterday I made sure not to forget it - but of course, not only was the light not the same, but thanks to Florence, Gordon and now Helene, the beaches don't look as pretty either! Seaweed has washed up all over the place. I guess I learned my lesson!! Always check equipment before leaving the house!

C&C welcome.

Firstly, love the shot!

I feel for you on forgetting the CF Card.
I'm meeting up with a few of the guys from POTN on another meet in the Highlands tommorrow and I just spent the last hour going through my checklist.

Don't beat yourself up...it's easy done!

I like the seaweed,it conjours up a smell I haven't experienced in a long time,,,being land locked in the prairies.,,sob

When you hit 40, your eyes suddenly need bifocals, and don't they say when you turn 50 it's the short term memory that is the first to go:confused:

change your option to shoot without card to off!!! :)

menu> tools> shoot w/o card OFF

I also learned my lesson as many others here as well..it sucks!!! lol
Also might want to keep a spare CF card in the camera case.

Hopefully you can get out again and do a reshoot! Looks like it would be lovely!

I like the image. You should have more than 1 CF card, what if your card were to go bad while shooting? Even a 256mb card would have salvaged your day. As I have bought higher capacity cards, the older ones have stayed in the bag, even my original 16mb (which is about 3 RAW images)

Thanks, and yes, good point, I will turn that function off. And add extra CF cards to my LONG wish list! Until hurricane season is over, we don't spend on luxury items and hubby views my obsession with photography as a "luxury"

When you take the card out, leave the door open until you put it back in.

The open door will be your clue.;)

Lol...the joys of photography.
Ann, you always manage to capture beautiful colors in your images like this one.
The two white chairs and table make for an excellent FG in your shot.

Thank you Frank, I just wish I had been able to capture the shot when the beach was clean - ah well!

I like the way your shot turned out in the end Elisabeth-Ann. You makes us jealous with water like that! Look at the color... Also composition is good; no distractions and a lot of interresting stuff to see.

Thanks Sander - I was afraid with all the seaweed that the shot looked a bit too busy.

You`ll need to change the custom setting (if you camera does that) so the camera doesn`t fire without a card.;)
Love your fg,you always have something nice and clever, like your style.;)
