After much research I've decided to buy a A80 camera and now need help with software.
My question is this, should I buy other software or is the software with the camera good enough. I'm thinking of buying PHOTO ELEMENTS and taking my time and learning it well.
I don't want to waste money if the packaged software would be OK. I'm a hobbyist but want to do a little more then fix red-eye and crop.
Any ideas?

Photoshop Elements 2.0 is a great piece of software. I use it as my primary photo editor. Someday I hope to have the time/motivation to learn Photoshop CS. You may be able to get PSE 2.0 for free with your camera software. It came with my 10D. You really need something other then the Canon FVU. Feel free to see my pictures edited with PSE 2.0 at the link below.

You really can't go wrong with the software upgrade. When you upgrade to other cameras the software will still be beneficial. A good investment.

The A80 doesn't come with Elements. I can't recall the package that it does come with though I can remember seeing it and suggesting to someone else that they move to Elements.

If you work with Elements for a period of time the move to Photoshop is pretty smooth as the menus are very similar and the tool bars are pretty much the same as well.
