vosonic hd 2160 trouble shooting

help!!!
i have a portable hard drive - x's II vp2160, and while shooting a major project and expecting to download my images - it basically died on me with crucial data on it which i cannot access no more...

when i turn it on now it says 'HD init..' nut than failed to do that - and when connected to my PC the computer can't recognized it and thus, impossible to retreive the info.

someone has a good suggestion what should i do or who in London can fix it asap???

There's two possibilities - either the filesystem on the disk is damaged, or the disk itself has failed.

If the filesystem is damaged, you may be able to get at the data by hooking the drive up to a PC and using standard disk recovery tools. However, if the disk itself has failed, then the only option is a data recovery service (which is megabucks).
