Click multiquote on those messages you want to quote and then click "quote" to reply.

Yes multiquote is one of the best new things for members. Much easier to respond to many comments which means no more multiple posts to respond to 10 comments.

No doubt. I don't like ramming a thread with a bunch of posts either but it was a royal pain to create quotes for everyone that said something...and I don't like making generic "thanks all" statements either. So yeah that's a beautiful new addition.

seems faster on my end _ Pekka should this take care of the recent slow or not responding issues we had been having?

Oh, one more thing: there have been reports that after upgrade there might be few hours of slow going when the forum rebuilds e.g. post cache. I don't think we see that much on this server, but I still want you to know that it is possible to happen and what causes it.

I saw that but didnt know what it was. That's nice too.
Is quoting from one thread into another feasible with that feature? IE can I quote someone in EOS Lenses to call them out on something they say in say, EOS Bodies (or whatever those categories are called)?

If the response issues continue, then I add some RAM and if that does not help I'll buy Zeus server. Whatever it takes. But vB is a RAM hog, so adding RAM is coming in any case.

If I were you I'd go shoot something of importance. A portrait, bird, something...anything. Run a little USM for haze, USM for sharpen, and you might be surprised.
Not all lenses are created equal...even good ones.

Yes it is :D If you select posts from other trheads you will get an option just below the message box.

What you have to remember is when zooming to max any movement of the camera is magnified. So when shooting in wide mode the movements will have much less effect than when zoomed to max.
Later today I will try and take a testshot with my S3IS.

Thanks for adding the Skype in the profile. I used to have it in my signature but now I can keep it there.
In another thread you had alluded to some changes/limits to the signature area. I can't see anything here for that, is that yet to come?

Thanks for the upgrade! There's another forum I check occasionally that has some of the features we have here now, and I've thought it would be great to see them here, too.
I do miss the time stamp on the posts, though. Is that a setting that can be turned back on? For example, "1 Week Ago" doesn't always help when you're trying to figure out just when in that seven day period a message was posted...

Sounds like some nice features have been added, but one change I noticed immediately and don't care for: when checking the "Mark this forum read" option from the Forum Tools dropdown, it used to go immedately back up to the index... now it's doesn't. I found the former behavior very convenient for my viewing habits. Anyone else?
Also, something I commented on months ago, but still a minor "bug" (?) is the "Forum Jump" at the bottom of the Rumors sections... it takes you to the user CP rather than back to Rumors. Thanks for the updates, however.

I use that option a lot myself and I noticed the change, but it is not a big deal to me. It was slightly nicer the old way, but truly not an issue to me. I'm just happy to be able to mark individual forums as read. :D

Thank you, Pekka, for the upgrades. No doubt why POTN is the best!
I was away from my computer for awhile and when I hit refresh, I got this:
"The threads below have not been updated since your last visit or since forums have been marked read."
This definitely helps me to keep from searching. Nice feature! (I'm assuming this is new?)

Might work if you could have either a text one or an image, not both. Would reduce the size of signatures!

The multi quote is easy to use.
Just click the multi quote button on all the posts you want to quote, then on the last one, click the regular quote button :)

Theres a size limit on them, and of course the mods have the ablity to edit them (at least the option is there in VB).
This is the only forum I participate in that dosn't allow img tags in sigs, and untill recently didn't even allow any kind of images. On the other forums, while there is clearly room for abuse (giant animated gifs for example), its generaly very easy to control.
And of course POTN has a deciedly mature, educated membership base compared to a lot of other forums :)

Usually this is maintenance background work. For example in last 20 minutes slowness was because I deleted 60GB of data from the server. I try to do these things when it is night in US, but still there are always lots of people online....
