I have a mac, and i need to buy a PP program for it. I have Photoshop CS on windows, but could use a good mac program.
1. What is better -to you- between Aperture, and Photoshop CS.
2. Explain why. What are the differences. What can you do with one that you cant do with the other, and vice-versa?
Im not starting another windows vs. mac thread;) .... ONLY talk about the two programs!!!
Thanks guys!!

Rumor has it that Apple will be updating Aperture next week at Photokina. You may want to wait and see what's new.

If you shoot Raw definately buy Aperture
for 299 it's a bargain and has a lot of very useful functions
You would still need Photoshop for any heavy tasks, but most of simple PP can be done in Aperture

I have a student discount, so aperture is $149 for me :) :) :)
I have a very slow windows computer that i do my pp on, so i might get aperture for my main tasks, and anything i need i can use photoshop CS for.
Anyway jev, at 149, aperture is a bargian!!
Malcom, i will probablyy just wait then and see what happens! maybe a new version will come out soon, ih have heard that too, just didnt know when.

I just got Aperture last week and so far it's great. All of the PP work I used to to in Photoshop, which is usually basic color corrections and image enhancements, I can now do in Aperture and a whole lot faster too. I will still keep Photshop around in case but I don't plan on updating it anytime soon unless the Universal version for the Intel Macs has new features that I can't live without.

That is probably what i will end up doing too AKR.
Most of the time all is do is:
adjust levels
adj saturation
darken/brighten
change hues
crop
and straighten images. All of this can be done with aperture, correct? I just want to verify this before i go to play with it again, or purchase it.
What are some other nice, or possibly 'exclusive' features to aperture that you all notice or use?

What about Adobe Lightroom (currently beta) that is set to come out? Isnt that the rival to Aperture?

You're comparing apples and oranges.
Actually he's comparing Apple's and Adobe's. [insert rim shot]
Seriously, yes, Aperture doesn't do all that Photoshop does, so it isn't necessarily an either/or situation.
