Yesterday was the very first POTN Brisbane meet-up/expedition. We all arrived round 5:30am'ish in the inner city and then covered a lot of ground during the day. These photos are cityscape photos of the day :)
1) This was the very first set I took of the day and is a stack of three exposures. There are two POTNer's who are visible in this photo and a third who is not so visable :)

2) Sigma 12-24 @ 12, iso 100, f/16, 1/60s
Every morning she pounds the footpath,
Every morning she takes the same route.
She sees the same thing day in, day out,
Perhaps she notices the changes that appear,
Or maybe she doesn't.

Nice work Helen, boy do Paul and Tina look out on a limb on that jetty! Looks like you shot a liitle more after lunch also. I also like the windows of light on the water feature. Well done, some great colour out of the SIgma.

Very nice!
The sunlight on the cascading water caught my attention too. Well captured!
Looking at the first and second photo, no way would you think that was the same day. Not only that, but within an hour or so of each other on that day.

Hi Helen,
When you say this is a "stack" of three images, do you mean an HDR image or an image put together with "CombineZ" (or similar)? Or do you mean you just put them in separate layers in PS and stacked them with varying transparencies to get the right exposure?

Paul,
It was all very much just 3 layers in photoshop with channel masks and the overlay layer mode.
I have never really had results that I have liked with HDR or the combining programs. What I do seems to work lol :)

Helen, I like these shots very much, and the commentary compliments your work. Nicely done, and an excellent choice of words and subjects.

Hehehe... this thread was in the similar threads box for the Brisbane POTN thread. I hadn't seen it yet, and I'm glad I did because 2 and 4 make me think how wonderful this city is. :) I go by Riverside at least once a week with my camera, yet I'd never thought of seeing it from no.4's perspective! :)

And I'm ashamed to say that I STILL haven't figured out how to do this:oops:
