Steam Locomotive waiting for days work

Here is two shots I took a few weeks back. One is in color the other I reduced to just Black and White. Tell me what you think. I am trying to be more confident and post more of my work. Thanks Joe

That is an old engine, so in that sense a B and W photo seems appropriate. Still, the photo is a surrugate way for me to be there, watching the engine. So, color wins my vote after all.

Nice image but I like the color better although the feel you may have been trying to achive from B&W is a good idea. For me the B&W here takes away too much contrast between details so the eye loses the interesting details of the image.

The B&W looks the best to me. It helps to mask the foreground clutter a bit without taking away from the turntable and other parts of the scene. Perhaps a little tweaking to the contrast would pop out some of the highlights..

I like the color one, When it comes to steam, I usually prefer B&W but I think your B&W image needs some work onthe tones and contrast.
