interesting...
my wife walked by and said "what's that you're looking at...looks like your camera..."
no kidding : )
(think this will be a way to purchase it and have her not know i just shelled out another 2K+ for a camera? : ))) how about a d-30 decal to put over the d-60 label? : )
i KNOW i'll bite (now i have too much canon equipment to NOT get a D-60...and to move quickly and not lose too much of my investment in the D-30 by selling it in then next few months only makes good financial sense)
BUT...as most D-30 owners may be likely to agree...
i'm a little more than disappointed that they didn't do something to dramatically improve the AF...so far i haven't seen glowing reports...it has never really been a BIG problem for me (although i use the ST-E2 and/or 550 EX most of the time so it isn't as big of an issue) i am more than pleased that all of my accessories don't need to be replaced...that's a big factor for me...
i do believe that the price is going to be right...although the usual sharks and internet meanies will be pulling their bait and switch stunts for the next few months, i'm sure...
and after reading in the dp review that having more pixels makes it more important than ever to have L-glass...now i don't feel silly about that investment i've been carefully making the past few months...
i guess all that remains...is to actually hold one in our hands, huh?
: )
my .02 cents worth...

with a 6.1 meg image you better be ready to shell out for a faster computer and huge, dare i say humongous, hard drive.

np gerry...
work in the music business...already got speedy computers (mac : ) and lots of hard drive space : )
i'd give up that disk space just to be able to crop a LITTLE and not get that jpeg-y look...
from what i read...raw images in the d-60 are about 7 meg...whoa!
anybody know if that raw converter for the D-1 is any faster? they SAY it's faster (and according to the dp review the d-60 uses the same converter, etc) i could stand not having to do file processing on another computer (i use two computers...my extra is just for getting those files into linear tiff format : )
