Hi all,

Yesterday I went out with my brother and his friend and we did some shooting with our trucks. I tried to set the trucks up in some interesting positions to get nice composition. Please feel free critique my composition and perspective.

I have a couple others that are interesting, but I'm still trying to figure the best to crop them... I'll try to post them later.

Thanks

And finally, a solo shot of my brothers Silver Hemi.

OK, I'll bite...

I like the compsition on #3; it's the strongest shot in this series.

It's a general rule of thumb to always have the wheels turned so as to have the face of the rim toawrds the camera; notice the black Ram in #1, or the Hemi in #4. There are exceptions to this of course, depending on what effect you want to achieve.

Also, aside from being pretty loose compositionally, you've cut off the tail ends of the Blazer and the Hemi in shot #1 and just the Blazer in #2. The ideas behind both of these shots are good, they just need to be reworked a little.

pretty nice. Like the third and fourth best.

Thank you for the critique.

So, in the first one, would the shot have been better if the tail of Dodges had been uncut and the Blazer had been turned just a bit to see more of it?

And, just I understand you, the wheels should be turned toward the camera (like in 1 and 4)?

Thanks again.

show the rim - not the tire tread.

and pack those trucks in closer. :P

Good start, keep at it! You almost have the "right light", so it's just details that you need to work on. "Film" is cheap! ;)

So, in the first one, would the shot have been better if the tail of Dodges had been uncut and the Blazer had been turned just a bit to see more of it?Yes.. at least, that's what I had in mind.

And, just I understand you, the wheels should be turned toward the camera (like in 1 and 4)?Actually the opposite.. as in #3.. "show the rim, not the tires" says it better than I did.

Keep it up!
