TYRFRYR! Well, that was the best part of the show for me, Seems there is an "undocumented" event each year,
where the cars leaving do "unapproved" burn-outs? I was in the back of the parking lot when it started &
missed half of the action. The show is free, but I'd have paid to hear this!

Here are a few of them.

Four-wheel burn out! He liked it so much he came back & did it again! (He wasn't the only one!) ;)

Another good effort! Despite the smoke, he got off well.

Just 'cause I had one!

A bit lower than "normal-for-the street" tire pressure? No smoke. Just low e.t.!

Too much smoke & not enough acceleration, but what do you expect from a "Fordie"? :D
Notice the flailing elbows! Some of these guys are either way out of practice, or have never done this before?

It was very democratically organized show - Mopars on one side of the lot & everyone else on the other. I'll be sure to go back next year!

The end was the best part. I wish I'd been in place for the start of it. ;)
A few guys will catch hell for quietly driving out. This means you, Marc!
:D

you shoud have bought that cuda and relived the old days I keep fighting the impulse? Last night I heard about a decent Polara for $5,000. Just ugly enough to be cute, & with a 383 in it...
Here's one with a hemi. (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=91037)
OTOH, King Kong (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=79430)is a tad too much for the street. ...and stop holding out. I know you have more. Not many as some of the best cars were the ones I heard from the back of the parking lot. I'll look when I get back home.

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Give in to temptation;)

King Kong looks a bit of a handful:eek: & I think the polara is maybe not cool enough or cute enough.

...maybe not cool enough or cute enough. "Cute enough" it will never be? It's just plain ugly, & if it were a bulldog, I'd want to pet it? Which makes it cute in my book. From the thread, "...it has a lot of personality, sort of like the "friendly mutt" of the Mopar world that everyone wants to pet on the way to see the "thoroughbred Chargers". Then it shows you it's teeth!"
I just think some "Mutts" are cool! Like this Anglia...
"Mighty Anglia!" '48 Anglia 540 (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?p=704382)

I think that Butch's Pro Street 63 Nova SS (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?p=1356094)qualifies. It's a "Plain Jane", & one of my favorite "Non Mopar" cars.

Another Polara: '63 Dodge 330 440cid (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?p=746833)

in the second last shot the beast seems to be having it's back tyre fried alright Those are racing 'slicks' & are made to run at a very low tire pressure for better traction. Not the best idea for the street though.

Thanks, Marie!
