I was out taking waterfall pictures this weekend, and I see this woman with her Nikon taking wedding photos of people. I need a camera like that. She was taking the pictures with the setting sun (6:30pm) right behind her subjects, didn't have any gear with her but a tripod, no flash, and one small (maybe 50mm MAX) lens, wiht the hood reversed.

I figure that if I get a camera that can get good shots in a situation like that, what more could I want? It really kinda made me chuckle. Just looking at the way she was setting up, I hoped for her sake that she brought several memory cards, because her exposures were going to be WAY off. If they came out good, then it must truly be an 'idiot-proof' camera. ;)

Stop dreaming, it was a take for a movie. :)

. . . or a commercial, which you'll be appearing in too:
"Now see the lowly Canon photographer, overburdened with equipment and only getting (cut to Polaroid 180 holiday snaps) results like these this instead of the Nikon user's (series of Galen Rowell Yosemite, Nepal, ad Alaska shots) beautrful work."

Don't think you missed anything condyk... just another case of random Nikon bashing. Why can't we all just get along? ;)

no offense, but you have no idea what her exposures or final images will be like.

That's a good point... perhaps she was intentionally shooting silhouettes?

That sounds possible! Or did she have a built in flash, that you didnt notice!

Yeah I want one of those ones they use on CSI. They must have live preview from the way some of them hold them. Oh oh.....I want that image enhancement software they use too.

Doubtful... She was shooting group shots and such straight into the sun... no pop-up flash or anything... I'm not Nikon bashing... Just chuckling

that's funny.. but, in all fairness a new Canon shooter could be caught doing the same thing... ofcourse, if it were a canon shooter I think we would all pounce on them and show them the error of their ways... perversely enough I give Nikon shooters a wide berth.... probably because their not using glass I wish I owned or a body I might upgrade to...
