Oh, what I could buy for that $50,000! Camera gear I lust after, college tuition for my kids, .... At least it goes to a good cause.

For $50,000 I could set myself up with some really nice cameras and lenses and still have enough change left over for a Landrover.

They could have at least chosen the SD700 and given you IS in your $50,000 package. But hey, maybe $50,100 is too extravagant even for these folks.:) :)

Most LED made in China. Maybe all.

$50,000= 450,000 RMB. With that money I retire for lifetimes.

Personally I think thats crazy, there is so much you could do with $50k, thats £26,600. Thats some nice kit, however unlike the SD630, it probably wont fit in your pocket, but i guess you could buy a big bag, and a sherpa.

All the best

I'd imagine you could fit a ton of kit in a Sherpa. I used to drive Sherpas.

It's nothing more than a fashion accessory.
Mostly aimed to rich people who 're worried about their image than anything else or celebs.

Exactly. No one who had that kind of money to spend, and enjoyed photography as a hobby would touch that one. They'd be on here posting their enormous collection of boxes. :)

Guys, guys,

It's for charity.
They don't really plan on actually reaching a market with this

I would rather lease one for 24 month and keep the money in my pocket. Cars depreciate in value, after 24 month they are worth only 1/3 their value and by that time I'm tire of it.

not to rain on your parade or anything, but seeing as the 1200L is discontinued, unless the poster actually meant they would buy everyL, including the old ones (17-35, 28-70, 80-200, all the non-IS versions as well) then they wouldn't of included that in their list.

The proceeds would go to the children of africa.

Sshh! Don't let the cat out of the bag. Next year's version is the SD800 IS with 28-105mm lens and that will be $100,000 ;)

"IS adds to the cost of the camera" :p :p :p :p

I believe there is a 18 month waiting list for that lens. If you plan on ordering one.
