I went to the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens with some POTN'ers this past Saturday. The weather was absolutely beautiful. We stayed at the ponds for about an hour and ended up leaving for some amazingly amazing heroes, never came back! In that hour, I was able to get these shots.

All of these shots were taken with 70-200 2.8 and 1.4xTC II (thanks to MDJAK).

Nice job! I have been trying to find the time to go there.

Thanks Mike. It's a beautiful place with plenty to see. If you don't hussle, you may not even get around to see everything. It's also very cheap! If you go in on Saturday morning as we did, you can get in for free.

Here's another one I forgot.

Damn, with shots like that, who needs a macro lens?

And to think, his 70-200 is NOT IS.

Imagine what he could do with IS.

Chris, I aspire to take shots as good as yours every time we're together. That's what keeps me shooting. I love the friendly competition.

Hey Mark, thanks a bunch for the kindness.
Just figure it this way: I still take more bad shots than good shots. You saw it yourself when we loaded them up on your computer. I'm just shutter-happy.

These are gorgeous flowers Chris, beautiful colours, nicely focused and composed. I'll be in Brooklyn next Tuesday and Wednesday, how much does it cost to get into the botanic gardens?

Tony, on Tuesdays, admission is free all day. Otherwise, adult admission is $5, student and senior admission is $3.
