I took this picture of my grandfather and his children. It is not often they are all together like this. This will be framed and displayed in all their houses. I realize the shot is not perfect and I shot in an auto mode for some reason. But if there is anything that could be done to improve this picture before printing, I'd like to do it. I'm new to Photoshop but can figure things out will a little help.

The grandfather is mostly blind and will hardly be able to see the picture, but I know he'll show it to everyone who comes for a visit.

Thanks in advance.

I think it looks great! I don't see anything to keep it from a wall as is

This is a very nice shot. If you are concerned about the shadows on some of the faces, you can create a new duplicate layer of the background layer. On this new layer, apply some Shadow/Hightlight adjustments to bring the faces out of the dark shadow. Because the shadow is not the same for all the faces, you may need/want to also create a layer mask so you can restrict the effect to only those faces that needs.

Anther thought is to use a levels layer with a mask to the same effect.

Hope you don't mind...

#1...just some shadow, color tweaks. #2 b&W conversion.

Sageone,

I think your crop of the B&W is an improvement. In the original it looks like the guy on our right may be missing an arm.

I like the picture as is (I'll do the crop) if others agree, than all be happy with that minor change.
