Please critique. It's a work in progress so feel free to make suggestions. I personally am considering whether or not to lighten the foreground a little. It is as it appeared, but looks a little dark. On the other hand, lightening it will take attention away from Mr. Sol who is the star of the show.
(p.s., I just looked at the preview of the post. the ground is darker in the post than on my desktop where I can see detail in the sand, bushes, etc. Don't know why - it was converted to srgb before uploading. Help there would be appreciated also.)

edit: hmmmm. It's way darker than on my desktop. don't know why. Never had this problem with uploading a picture before. maybe it's photobuck. it looks dark displayed there also)

Try setting the Color Settings in Photoshop to No Color Management and see if that helps out. Anyway on my calibrated monitor it looks pretty good Dan. The foreground seems bright enough not to take away form the evening sky.

Very nice. I like it a lot.
Generally it's not recommended to put the horizon line right in the middle of the frame, but I think it works fine in this case.

Thanks to all for the comments.
Wildewinds, thanks, I appreciate that validation. while shooting I was well aware of the rule of thirds and anguished over it. but every time I changed the composition in the camera, it just didn't look right. I think the reason is that even tho it is a sunrise, my focal point and pseudo-subject is the foreground sea oats which is in the bottom third. if it were a plain beach with no sand mound or sea oats, it would not have worked.
