Guys,

I kept 8 of my photos in a exhibition held in Tokyo last saturday. This exhibiton was to generate funds for chairty & was quite successfully.

I was very nervous as this was the very first time ever I displayed my photos in public & trust me - very uncomfortable standing there while people where looking/waling by my photos.

But I am the most happy person today !!! One gentleman & lady purchased two of my bird shots !! Money not important here but they kept coming back to watch my photos again & again & in the end just said they want to buy it as both the photos are "striking"

The photos sold are (I posted them here earlier)

There are two more shots people are interested in but I couldnt sell as I promosed the models I wont do so.
One is here, other I havent uploaded on net.

I am sure many of you have had the euphoria I am having now.
I just wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU to all of you. When I joined in Dec 2004 with G3 I had no idea about anything, leave alone a DSLR. This forum & all you members have all helped me grow to where I am. There is lot to learn as I still make crappy photos, however its good to know I am progressing.
Thanks a lot Guys !!!

& yeah, money from this sale goes to charity !!
(not too much so dont ask me :-))

Stunning, absolutely stunning.

Could you post your EXIF and PP workflow/process so we can get an idea of hwo much each contributed to the shot? I'm very curious myself, but don't mean to imply that lack of skill in one field was overcome by another. You obviously had great 'photogmanship' (yea, new word) accented by beautifull PP work. Very vivid, emotive shots.

[edit: my apologies - exif is intact -thanks. More indepth info is still welcome and appreciated though]

Thanks everybody. I am really very happy as my skill is improving & at the same time money earned will be used for a good cause !

Cataclysmcow, you found the exif already. As for PP, I did minimal PPL on these shots, just boost up saturation a bit to bring up yellow, red & pink + applied some sharpness. Contrast boost was minimal too.
Thats pretty much it !

A year back I would have blindly boosted u contrast & saturation,,, now i got a check on myself.
At the same time, taking a good enuf shot to begin with is a thing I totally attribute to this forum. Advice & comments from people have really helped.

Raj, these are great! I especially like the second one. It almost looks like the bird is turning to look at you. It's one thing to have people tell you they like your shots, but when they want to buy them, that's an exciting validation to get. Congratulations!
