Here are some boats I took while on a walk ..seems the walking and camera go hand in hand ..

They are nice snapshots that I'm sure are a great reminder of your walk and that beautiful day. If you're interested in taking technically better photos, you may want to think about things like framing/cropping to draw the viewers attention to specific features or items, as well as overall balance. You're definitely right about taking a camera with you almost anywhere you go: you just never know when something will come along that you want to capture!

the 2nd one looks lacks a lot of sharpness... was it digitally zoomed or cropped a lot?

Thanks for the comments and I have done some work with cropping and selective subjects but these 2 pictures are as is from the camera except for resizing to post here.I just liked them ..thought I'd share .

Are there any books or good reads on this subject as I have always wondered about if there is a correct way to frame and crop a subject. I hear quite often people here comment and say that a picture has good composition and dont know eactly what that means.
