If any photo-Mac users live in the vicinity of the San Jose, CA. area, you might consider coming to the meeting of the Silicon Valley Macintosh Users Group on October 16th. San Francisco Bay Area photographer, Derrick Story, will be doing a presentation in relation to iPhoto, Photoshop, Aperture, and photography in general.
If you have an iBook/MacBook, bring it in and take advantage of Apple's wireless network for updates, etc. If you have questions/problems regarding your Mac, bring them with you. Last night, Intuit was the guest speaker and everybody there was given a free copy of Quicken 2007...so, you never know what you can get (we also usually have a raffle for stuff at the end of the meeting).
We meet once a month at Apple's HQ in Cupertino.

Shoot, I need to get more frequent business trips down there. I was there for a whole week a couple of weeks ago, and am usually in the San Jose area once every couple of months.

Heh, I thought how cool that would be to just hook up an iSight for something like that (since we start at 7pm Pacific, & without going into a more elaborate setup). Since it's basically a MUG (Macintosh User Group), it serves those more in the locale who can come to the meetings. However, if I ever get a MacBook, perhaps it could be something done on iChat.

As for Steve Jobs, he hasn't been to any of the meetings that I know of. Maybe I'll email him about it.

I just got a Calendar of Events for the Apple Store in San Francisco in my email.

On Oct. 23rd @ 6pm, they'll have Ben Long, coauthor of the book "Apple Pro Training Series: Aperture" giving some insider tips.
