Either the model has a serious skin condition or there is some sloppy post processing being applied.
Sorry to be so callous, but there is no other way put it.
The poses, composition and the lighting seem to be extremely artistic and well planned.
The exposure seems to be very good in the later pictures, but in #1 I would say it is over-exposed.

I saw on another forum that it's a skin disorder that the mom does not want removed.

Yes, She does have a skin condition. I asked her if she wanted me to remove the spots and she declined as they are a part of who she is.

Like all three, but number 3 the most. the first two mom's smile looks forced. This may be her standard smile for photos. My mom always has a "fake" looking smile in photos. The first shot is a good family portrait, but the child keeps us from telling it is a maternity.

#3 is very nice. Original pose and nice composition.
#1 doesn't look like a maternity shot since the belly is covered by the kid. The fact that they're all looking in different directions is a bit distracting.
#2 would have been nice if the boy had a decent expression on his face and the mom didn't look like she was forcing her smile. Also, I would have cropped it a bit above the panty line or edited out the little bit that's showing.

Your poses and composition are good, though as those before me have mentioned, the mother's smiles detract somewhat as it seems forced. The 2nd photo would be better with the child looking at the camera too, or perhaps with mother and child looking at each other. This might also get around the forced smile issue.
Overall, I really like the poses you used for the 2 maternity pictures, especially the one where she is holding the boy. Too bad the smiles didn't come along too. Were they nervous or something?

i like them, but i think a little more contrast would be nice. like they said above, the smiles look a bit iffy.
