I took this picture early in the morning, was wondering if somebody can explain why the 'extra' moon is there. It was taken on a tripod using a wireless remote. Thanks in advance

The extra moon is lens flare.
Is this an eclipse???

LOL not an eclipse. I was thinking lens flare, any ideas on how to correct it, besides Photoshop?

Looks like your exposure might have been lengthy. How long? Usually something like 1/125 f8, iso400 will do it.

Hellashot is right, the overexposed portion of the moon is so bright, you end up seeing the internal reflections from the other lens elements. If you get the exposure right, the flare will be a lot less. A smaller aperture helps a lot.

Do you have an extra filter on the lens? If you've got a UV you might want to take it off...
