please do not laugh if i tell u this--

my wife set the iso to 1600 when she played around with my 30D. i did not realized it and all my test pictures were taken at iso 1600. i found lot of strange colored dots in the picture and i thouhgt it was the lens. Tonight I shot the same thing with iso 100, excellent picture taken.

Now i am happy with the lens and remembered Ronald said mostly it was the user error.

Let me show how iso 1600 can destroy a good picture, I took this one below I liked very much this afternoon, it has go to the recycle bin because of the iso setting.

if u look at the pic at a small size, it is not too bad, but with 100% crop you can find lots of dots, here--

Last, thanks everyone here who helped.

Oh goodness, keep that one. It's nice! How often are you gonna look at it that huge that you see something like in that crop? Keep errrr.

a comparason of iso1600 and iso100. me as a beginner, i will try to set the iso always below 300 to be safe. unless i can find a good way to reduce the noise it creats.

No offense to those that don't/can't have a 5D, but that's what I love. I don't have to limit myself on the ISO. 50-3200, it's just awesome. Get the exposure, and you'll have next to no noise, no matter what the setting (that goes for the other models, too!).
