Is it okay to be really uptight about feedback at times when buying? I realise I have no feedback here (but I do on other forums), and that there is little risk to the seller selling to a new member because they recieve payment first (in my case, I do money orders.)

The only thing is, when buying, I seem to lately be real uptight (and I have never even been scammed or anything.) If somebody has no feedback anywhere, I just say thanks, but no thanks. If somebody joined the forum like 3 days ago and gives me some ebay feedback with like 10 feedback over 2 years, I also usually pass. For somer reason, I prefer forum feedback.

What about you guys? Is it bad to be uptight about feedback? Sometimes if a member's hung around a forum for a long time with a couple thousand posts, I'll deal with them regardless of where they have recieved feedback because I usually like to think they aren't about to scam me and risk their account on the website for a few hundred dollars. I guess I just lack trust for a lot of people, mainly because I've found even if your not getting scammed, sometimes people lie about the condition of their product. I have bought several thing's classifed as "like new" and "mint", yet when I get them, there are a few blemishes or scratches around the body of the item, meaning it should had been more like "good condition, few blemishes and hairline scratches" or something. I also kind of get annoyed with people who provide no sample photos for a lens they are selling (how can you judge if it's a sharp copy or not without sample photos?)

Do you actually need to rationalize your own judgement? You don't even need to say, "no thanks." Just don't buy it.

For some reason (not aimed towards anyone in particular on this forum or the net), some people seem to think you are ready to buy after they have answered all your questions, I have had this happen a few times where people send me shipping information for the money order before in my opinion the deal was even closed.

I say so what. You had questions, kicked the tires, and decided not to buy. Happens all the time.
