S10 Upgrade

I have a S-10 that has been nothing but problems from day one. Been sent for repair more times then I can remember. Now the flash no longer works but on manual flash the camera does OK with enough light.
Three questons
1. Is the camera worth fixing?
2. If I upgrade I'm thinking of a A80, would that be a good choice? Are the newer
3. Cannons more dependable then they use to be?

What problems were the previous problems you had repaired. What was their diagnosis?

How many previous repairs have been done?

Why not send the camera in to Canon and ask what they recommend, repair or replacement.

They 'might' give you a break on replacement with an a80 given the repair history of the s10 (whatever the history is...)

During your previous communications with Canon regarding your camera, were you in contact with anyone specifically? If so, address your concerns to them. (You could write a letter first instead of shipping off your camera...)
