What do you use them for in photography? I see people talking about them and i Have some, but I dont use them in any way with photography and am starting to get a complex feeling that I am missing something.....LOL

Yeah they're small but they're Maglites! The black one lives in my camera bag, comes in handy after dark and in real low light settings at times.

I have a 3 cell black one, but I haven't used it for photography yet, it lives in my car.

It doesn't have to have anything to do with photography. Though, it has been know to be used as self-defence equipment while you are exploring the unknown.

well, i have a 2AA that lives in my cam bag. i do use it very often because i go shooting at around 4:30 am and it is very dark and i also use it when i shoot at night. it is great for finding things and fidning your way. HOWEVER, it does have great use photography wise. i often use it to light up my subject at night so i can focus and you can also use it to "paint with light" while doing long exposure...

Show my Maglite?
Oh please ;)
Stock 4D puts out round 'bout 40-50 lumens (the PROPER unit of measurement for light, not candlepower). I reengineer them to generate around 1150 lumens for 60 minutes. No kidding. Walking sunlight is more like it. We gut the entire inside of the light except for the switch, replace the power source with ultra-high-amperage (not mAH, BTW - high current refers to power delivery) NiMHs, replacement bulbs, replacement reflectors and replacement lenses because the original plastic stuff will melt from the heat. Where there's lots of light, there's lots of heat.
I usually carry the Surefire stuff, more pocketable though. I know one other forum user has some, I recognized the distinctive L4 bezel in a photo of his even though he didn't specifically refer to it :) (takes an owner, I guess :D)

I have know people who use these as illumination for a focus point in low light. Never tried it myself, but those who have swear by it.
