If you're running XP and would like to view thumbnails of your CRW files directly in Windows explorer, check this thread:

That's a great little trick!
Now all I have to do is order Photoshop CS, so I can just click on those thumbnails and open up in an editing program.

This saves a lot of time when searching for a particular photo, particularly if you're as lazy as I am and don't rename the files with a meaningful name. Thanks for the tip

I would like to incorporate this feature, but I am not clear on how to carry out the following.
regsvr32 path_to_the_directory\crw_thumbnailer.dll
Replace path_to_the_directory with the actual path.
All advice will be appreciated.

Where ever you put the crw_thumbnailer.dll (the path) insert that in the path_to_directory.
For example, I put the .dll in a folder called c:\download\dll, so the command for my system would be regsvr32 c:\download\dll\crw_thumbnailer.dll

That has got to be the quickest reply I have ever had!
Thank you.
What I meant was, where is the command line!!!
I am not a programmer,just merely a photographer!

However, for XP, it is most likely that the DLL files are located in C:\Windows\System or else C:\Windows\System32

In XP:
Start, All Programs, Accessories, C: Prompt
That is the command line.

Thanks guys.
I had problems with writing it to the command prompt, due to the fact that I left out the 'underscore' between crw and thumbnailer.
Works a treat!
All the best

I set mine up in Windows Explorer so that a single click on the filename selects it, and that produces the thumbnail view on the left portion of the window. Then a double click is associated with the file converter, so that launches the converter.
