s70 will not turn on

I have the s70 which in terms of photo quality I am very happy with. However, one day it would not turn on. I slid the door open and nothing at all happened. The camera is no longer under warranty and will cost around $120 plus shipping to fix. The really big bummer is that the same thing occured November of last year! It was under warranty then, so I just had to pay shipping. Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone know what might be wrong?

Make sure the strap isn't caught under the silver catch preventing the lens door from opening completely.

thanks for the quick reply. yeah, the strap thing has been a minor annoyance in the past but this is a broken camera. i have charged the battery multiple times, there is no noise when i slide the opener, nothing. i read a review on amazon where the person said they had the same problem. like i said this is the second time this has happened to me. i am really frustrated. i never dropped the thing, it worked one night, then the next morning i went to use it (we were on vacation in london...) and it would not turn on. any other ideas?
