…but let’s play the camera body “Guessing GAME!” ( yaaaaaaa…clap…clap…laugh)
seriously though. I read somewhere that there is no way Canon would release the xxD so soon after the release of the 30D. Well….that may not be so true.
One reason they MIGHT is that the 30D has failed to excite the photographic public like the 20D. I know it’s not scientific, but does anyone remember how long the 20D remained at the top of the popularity chart on www.dpreview.com (http://www.dpreview.com/) after its release? The correct answer is….A LONG TIME!;)
Check out where the 30D is now. I think we’d all agree the 30D is nothing but an improved and less expensive 20D. Probably should have been called 20D mark II or something. I think the real “next generation” xxD is coming sooner rather then later.
Another thing to think about; when did the 20D start to retail for around $1,100? The correct answer is….RIGHT BEFORE THE RELEASE OF THE 30D! :D
I know that hurts the feelings of many gadget geeks who ran out and bought the 30D because it was the latest greatest. Heck, I just bought a 30D….not because it’s the latest greatest (I’m cheap…) but because my beloved 20D died a watery death. It’s a great camera and will serve me for many years to come. The next camera that comes out is going be awesome….and the one after that one will be MORE AWESOME!....as will the one after that…..and the one after that….and the one after that….( you get the picture)
