Hello everyone,

Today I could not resist the, 65 degrees before noon, urge to take a stroll with my dog. Tomorrow's high is forcasted to be 38.:eyes

I took this shot with the idea of seeing how the reflection would work against the sun since there just isn't a lot of color around at this time of year. Nikki, the dog, just happened to be in this shot which made it better. I almost deleted this picture in favor of another composition but because of Nikki, I printed it out for my wife. The print kindof grabbed my attention. I can't seem to take my eyes off of the center reflection and I am not sure why.

What do you think? I have looked at this picture here for an hour and can't decide if it is a good one or bad. :)

Eric, darn it, don't challenge me like this!

Your photo, from an artistic standpoint, kind of stinks. But, like you, I just keep going back to the reflections on the water. We must have a little bit of "moth" in us both. I just love the "star" effect on the water. I am the world's worst sucker for a backlit or reflection photo of just about anything.

Thanks for sharing. Also, if your wife loves Nikki, I see why she wanted a print.

Take the dog away and WOW!; Do you think there may be FISH is there?!! (Don't be so predictable, Eric.)

It's a nice picture and you have caught this stream's sparkle as well as anyone could, but is not that kind of “it”? I have the same problem we most of my shots. I usually cannot invent much else to do to increase content and interest. So too, I am not sure what to invent here.

It’s the off season (you can feel that). There is no variation in this patch of stream flow (i.e. it is pretty flat and without boulders). The structure of the surrounding bush is not adding line or interest. And there is no water wheel or other point of interest.

I guess what I would do is walk/ drive the stream and look for “the perfect spot” with additional compositional elements. Then I would try to add that to your sparkle – which means that time and compass setting also have a role to play here.
