They look a little dark, and the shutter should be faster.

Pretty good considering the equipment that you have on hand.
A faster shutter would freeze the action and a faster lens would give you more light, but you already know that.
Keep snapping.

Well, at high school fields the lighting is never gonna be great so you just have to accept it. I know there's a lot of thoughts, but when I shoot I do what a Pro who used to shoot NFL told me to do: ISO1600, 1/350th, f/3.5 with 580EX set for HSS. I get fair pictures.

That's a really good baseline, close to what I start with actually. Some HS fields are really dark though, don't be afraid to up the ISO to 3200.

Yeah...3200 kinda scares me. Im fine with film, but Im not so sure about all the noise. Mazer, Do you like Ender's Game? I have read it 7 times (once each year since 6th grade)

I've probably got you beat in sheer times read.
Allow me to do my comic book guy from the Simpsons impression.
Favorite. Book. Ever.
With the 20D the noise shouldn't be that bad, and IMO I'd rather have a little noise in a good shot, than a dark and blurry shot. You can always run it through an image cleaner like Neat Image (which I use) or Noise Ninja.
You'd probably get less noise at 3200 than I used to get with my DRebel at 1600.
