View Full Version : Is this a records?

Looking through the forum I think I may have created a new record. I posted the questions:

Does anyone know where I can download the manual for the 550EX Speedlite?

and despite 117 views - not one reply! As far as I can see there is no other topic with this record. Does this mean there is nowhere?

So the question must now change to:

Does anyone have any idea WHERE I can GET a copy of the manual.

I have now got the flashgun from a local shop for an incredible £85 (few marks, no manual (obviously) but otherwise seems to be perfect working order. I have fiddled but there are so many possible settings I definitley need help.

Please help a new records holder!

Thanks

Tim

Honestman~~Hello
Looking around I found this: http://www.manualsrus.com/CScripts/prodList.asp
It's downloadable...but the catch is a fee :(
I own the 420EX..(no help)...sorry, or I would have scanned the important pages and sent them 2 You.
*LOL* the site will make you search from the url I posted....search 550ex

To be honest (excuse pun) the manual wont help you that much, it is even worse than the Canon camera manuals. Best advice is to play around with it. If you have a specific I will happily advise from my manual but not sure of the copyright issues of scanning it through.

Thanks for that - if all else fails me I'll buy it from here.

What with it being Christmas and all, I thought I'd do something nice and dig out my manual to see what it would take to make a copy.

I'd forgotten...this sucker is 128 pages, and I have a very slow flat bed scanner.

If there is a particular section you're interested in, I could possibly do something over the next few days, but the whole thing is just too major an undertaking for now, especially with the Holidays at hand.

Good luck

Here ya go Tim!

550EX Manual (http://auditservices.com.pl/pub/fotomania/instrukcje/um-550ex-pl.pdf)

It may take a minute to download depending on your connection, and the quality isn't that great... but at least it's free!

Okay, then. My offer still stands. Mine's in English, although it's mostly Greek to me.

:) Yeah I have a new 550EX coming this week (we'll see how shipping goes, but it gets shipped UPS 3Day on Monday) so I'll be researching that Greek manual myself!

Oops, I didn't even look closely enough to see that it was in Polish... sorry!!! I just saw the title page, not the little 'PL' in the bottom corner. :) At least I tried...

Oh yipee! This ought to be fun. This will be the first real flash unit I have owned so this will be interesting. I have always shot 99% of my stuff under natural light, even indoors. A quantum power supply will be following shortly too. Changing all those batteries just seems annoying.

If you really are stuck you can order a new one from Canon for a fee. Pasted below is the info directly from Canon. This was from Canon Canada so the price might vary depending where you live.

P.S.

The 117 "views" are because if you run a search on Google for the 550 EX manual,. this thread is listed... I bet the vast majority of "Views" have been others looking for the manual too..

...when they get here and view the page,.. no manual was offered,. so they went on. The did not reply because they weren't ever registered.
