Matz, as a happy owner of an a70 and given your mastering of the camera (i saw your pics on the web site - very nice!)...
when using automatic modes, dim lighting pics appear blurred if no flash is used due to the long shutter speed (1"). the same happens with manual modes unless a flash is used.
other problem is when using flash the background appears dim then.
glad to read your suggestions.

When shooting in dim lighting situations, remember that long exposures will often result in camera shake, so use a brace of some sort (tripod, bean bag, rest the camera on a table...) Use self timer to further reduce jarring the camera.

Also when using flash, remember that the light fall off is dramatic for flash, so if you subject is much closer than the back ground, the background will get less exposure.

tgnych: Thanks for the feedback on my pictures :)

I agree with the previous posts, that bracing the camera will help a lot, either by using a tripod or leaning against something.
Setting a 2 second delay on the shutter might also help a bit, since you shake a bit when depressing the shutter button.

i did find out about the value of using the timer and sorted out my problem this way. it even allows longer exposure allowing to manage the pic lighting.
i also found out that this seems to be a problem with the a70.
i remain very happy with the camera overall, though.
