like what you have done here...the last one gives me the feeling that he got the pass off but took a big hit doing so...
Cheers,

The Raider looks like he is about to jump through my screen on that last shot. Nice job!
On a side note: how early do you have to get up to paint up your body like those guys in red/black. Holy cow. I hope they are Arts Majors.

Those are fantastic! I love #3 and the last one. Agree with Trout, looks like going to jump through my screen! What lens?

The 120-300 2.8. In the last shot he pretty much was right in front of me, I think that shot was at 120mm, which probably gives the effect of him coming out at you.

I really like that last one crash. And yeah it's the shorter FL + close proximity that does that. I have some motor(sports?? hah) pics that have a similiar effect.

Really a fan of your work, especially since I'm in the same position as you now as a University paper photographer. That second to last one is fantastic. Dont ya just love afternoon football games? :)

I'm actually doing this for the city website. The university paper never replied back to me. It doesnt bother me though, I still have access!

impressive... all my football pics have lame backgrounds cuz the stands are empty every time...sad how division III usually has no fan base.

As stupid as it sounds, the main reason I enjoy shooting college ball is the presence of a background. When shooting HS football, the sky is always blown out and throws the subject underexposed. And during the night-time, its pure black. Empty stands always make me cringe.
