First Football Shots

I popped down to the local field Thursday and got some practice shots and then Saturday for a couple of games. The rest of the shots (about35) are at http://lindasiadys.smugmug.com/Sports/233605

Now I really want a bigger faster lens! Both days were less than ideal light. Please C&C appreciated as I would like to get better at this.

What lens were you using? In the second shot tell number 86 to tie the lace on his cleats:). For the last couple of games I have been using my 120-300 Sigma decent lens I think.

I visited your smugmug site, and you have some really nice captures. My favorite is #24, with the player #1 running by himself. A second was #32, where the Greenbelt team is tackling the runner for the other team. Both shots are very sharp.

Thanks Rick and Trout. I know about that lace...the mom in me wanted to go tie it for him! I started off using my 70-200, but switched for most of the Saturday game to the 100-400. I thought it wouldn't be light enough, but tried it anyway and think the benes of the reach will make it my usual lens for this sport (until I can aford a bigger gun!) 800 iso most of the time. It was hard for me to get sharp shots, I am not used to trying to focus on some many different elements at once. But I think the bug has bit and I will be back. Really appreciate the comments.
