View Full Version : My Wife - First Attempts w/ AB-800

From an impromptu trial session with my new AB-800. Obvisouly these are after PP. First one is with the AB-800 and a reflector. The second is with the AB-800 and a large octabox attached + reflector. Shots were taken on the floor in our living room with a black sheet draped (poorly) over the couch behind her. I can't wait to get a backdrop system!

Comments/Suggestions welcome. I'm still not totally sure where I should place the reflector for the best "fill" results without a 2nd light.

She is beautiful! The first one looks a little underexposed and the second a little over exposed:) They are still great though! I am jealous, I wish I had an Alien Bee and a beautiful wife!

Thanks, incendy. I'd guess that both shots came out slightly under exposed to begin with but the outcome you see here was a result of PP. The ran the midnight sepia action on the first and leaned toward a darker image. The b&w conversion on the second probably lead to over exposing parts of the image.

I'd like to hear some comments regarding the shadows...whether they work or not and what I could've done to improve them with a reflector (where to put it, etc).

Man I want some good lighting. :D These shots are great. It must be nice to have such a willing and beautiful model.

Wow, thank you all :) My wife thanks you as well. In2Photos... she's definately willing (she really gets into it, as you can tell from #1) but she's not overly patient with me :)

I think that last part is true of all wives.;)
