I am unable to find the battery compartment door for my 10D. I usually have the grip on it, but I want a lighter package to carry around, so I bought a 28/2.8 and want to remove the grip.

Anyone know where I can get another battery compartment door? Anyone have one they want to donate? Sell?

A few months ago I bought a used D60 with a battery grip and found that the owner had misplaced the covering door. I called Canon and ordered the part, which arrived just about the same time the original door showed up (the owner had found it and mailed it to me). Now I have two D60 door covers, but unfortunately I have found that the D60 battery cover doesn't fit on my 10D. For some reason they are slightly different. However, you can order one from Canon. I think the total cost with shipping was around $15.

Not to ask the obvious, but you didn't put the cover in the little sorage slot and forget about it did you?

There's a small slot in the battery grip (next to the part that goes into the 10D). If you store the battery compartment door in there, it's always with the camera.

lo,l,.. I just had the same answer to the same question over at FM :D

Use the lovely little compartment the Canon Engineers were SOOOOO nice to provide! :)

Well, well...I guess that's what you get when you read the complete instructions. My battery covers for the 10D and D60 were in their boxes.

Now, they are in their little (safe and sound) compartments, with the camera(s) at all times.
