I like these. The softness works (the grey border kinda doesn't though, IMHO). Do you have any of her looking at the camera?

Nice shots. But, what don't you have 'no idea' about? A description would be helpful? I mean, the lighting isn't bad, but in #2 there is a cast of light in her hair, but even that doesn't really 'detract' from the image, as it's got this overall softness to it, almost like you used a softfocus 135mm lens.

Please explain.

what is your "cheap lights" definition...LOL. I also do most things outdoors, but would like to get some studio stuff to get going. Did you shop at home depot? Just curious what you used. The pics look great.

Shots look great. Im just wondering if the Pro-mist filter can do this? I've seen shots that look like this (both indoor and outdoor) - but I dont know what filter they used.

OP, can you give me a description or post of pic of your "cheap lights"?

i bought these lights a home depot a while ago to take pictures of my jewlery. i dont know what there called i use the word "tins" they look like round tin bowls.$15 cnd each i have two

i used my camera flash + a small fill flash on a braket to the side.

and in ps i used a skin softener with a blurred vingette

mabye im to hard on myself i think they could be better?

I really like the shots, however, my eye seems to be drawn to the extreem OOF foot in #1. It looks to be in about the same plane as her other foot, so it's most likely due to the blurred vingette you used.
