Well, Im doing a black and white themed "collage" of pictures on our entry way wall - and Im wondering if this picture would be deemed good enough in B&W to win a space! I haven't really done much converting to black and white, so if you guys can do a better edit on it, and tell me how you did so - it would be greatly appreciated! Heres the original and my version of it in B&W - thanks in advance for your comments and help!!! And if you don't think its good enough to print in 12x16 - TELL ME! ^^

I think it's a good conversion to B&W, but the loss of color also means a loss of identity to me. If I saw just the B&W version, I would think I was looking at an artichoke or something equally odd, rather than a beautiful flower. So, to me, it just doesn't work in B&W.

<--- Crys - I too love the colors, and that makes it hard for me to find good B&W's! LoL Buuuut, my girlfriend has to have a black and white wall, so it must be done. Maybe I'll look into more landscapes or something, rather than the flowers. Thanks for the comment!

What conversion technique did you use?

I think you started with a very over saturated color image. Try correcting the color version before converting to B&W. The blown/near blown highlights in the middle of the blower really distract in B&W.
