This is part of my childhood memories series. This is meant to reflect the fondness with which some of us remember the bliss of youth. Barbie is an icon childhood toys, so I felt the portrayal of her in the same manner as that of a spiritual icon, would to some degree articulate this.

I think that it works a bit.

The hands are delicate. But he top down focus on the hair, with little detail in the body, seems to me to weaken the punch.

Before reading your objective I did get an immediate sense of "fairy" but no sense of Barbie ( My daughter's had bloind hair.). More body and more side view , and some slightly reduced image space for hair might work better for me. But I guess that it is close.

PS: The hair does look doll-like in texture, so I do see a tooy -- rather than a fairy.

I like it--it tugs at my memory as I sooo remember undoing Barbie's ponytail so I could brush and "beautify" her hair--and my Barbie ended up with the saaaame hair as in your shot. :D

Almost abstract.
Most effective.
