Probably the grandest of the grand lodges in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, this lodge was also the site of the famous 1944 monetary conference at Bretton Woods. Forty-four nations were represented at that conference, which established the US dollar as the standard currency for world commerce and set the price of gold at $35 per ounce. These moves stabilized the world economy at a critical time. My visit was on a very overcast day, but the lodge was still impressive.http://www.pbase.com/sparker1/image/67380879.jpg

Thanks for the comments. I forgot to mention the reflection is in the pond on their beautiful golf course. If I still played, this would be a great place for it.

Very nice! And a history lesson too. It certainly is a grand looking place. Looks like it could easily be in Europe. It is huge.

Thanks, Dave. It's even larger than you can see from the front, as it is also very, very deep.
