Hey, there. I am thinking of getting a DSLR, and 300D might be my choice. However, I have been searching lots of related information about 300D and noticed there is a err99 problem. Can anyone tell me or explain to me, is this err99 problem a sort of 300D's quality problem? Or I can simply avoid this bug by using Canon lens only? Or any of you have any suggestion? Like 300D is a good choice or I can wait a bit longer see if there is any new Canon DSLR?
Many Many THANKS!!
Regards,
Jay

Not a problem, even with other manufacturer's lenses as long as they're newer. The error-99 'problem' was a fairly prevalent situation when the 10D first came out and people were trying to use them with older third party autofocus lenses. You'll get lots of opinions about using Canon-only vs. third-party lenses, but the facts appear to be that the problem (if it ever was a problem) has largely disappeared.
I haven't heard about nearly as many error-99 problems with Rebels.
Note: as I understand it, error-99 is a communication error between the lens and the camera body, and sort of a 'catchall' error code when the camera can't figure out what the problem actually is.
