New exhibition: MUST choose thumbnail paths FIRST before Header info, Photographer etc in Edit exhibition Data or it will clear it. It is no big deal if I remember to do that first, but I usually forget :( bug?

In Default Photo Data: Choose in Header Conversion for it to display Header AND Filename ... will only display Header, how do I get it to display the Header AND the filename Pekka?

I tried setting up a New exhibition, then setting the Default Photo Data for that New exhibition, then went and copied the files from exhibition A to exhibition B (the new one) and it still only shows the header (and when setting up the default photo data for exhibition B I DID choose display Header & filename.

Do I have to MOVE the files to the new exhibition instead of copying them for it to display Header & filename?

Thanks for the help Pekka.

That is not a bug, but how it is designed now. I'll change it so that it saves it all, in future.

I tested and all header conversions work as coded. Strange. You can revert photo header to current default settings by emptying it in photo editor and pressing enter. What does that procedure do in your system?

Will try to Clarify it for you a little bit.

1. Make a new (NewA) exhibition and choose just show HEADER.

2. Later, decide you wish it to show HEADER and FILENAME.

Couldn't get it to do that by changing DEFAULT settings.

3. Make NEW (NewB) exhibition, set DEFAULT settings for it to show HEADER and FILENAME.

4. Copy files from NewA to NewB and then make NewB PUBLIC for viewing and it does NOT display HEADER and FILENAME either.

5. Delete all the files used in NewA and NewB from EE (gone from server then).

6. Make new (NewC) exhibition, set DEFAULT settings for it to show HEADER and FILENAME.

7. Re-upload files to server (FTP), then add them to NewC.

Now HEADER and FILENAME both display.

So, once EE "sees" the files, I have to delete and re-upload them into a NEW exhibition to change the DEFAULT header conversion?

Maybe I am not understanding something here on how EE works.

Could I have done it an easier way with out deleting and re-uploading them etc. ?

Thanks Pekka,

Default settings affect upload only. What you need to do falls into category "feature requests" which I will handle as soon as 1.5 is out - specifically, the feature you request (changing photo headers in batch according to default photodata settings) will be added to powertools section.

What you request can now be done in current 1.5, but only one photo at a time, by emptying the photo header and saving it: default setting will be saved instead of empty header.

Ok, my understanding is that I could have used the same Exhibition then, IF I would have just deleted them from EE and then re-uploaded them, and the UPLOAD script would have taken care of it.

Thank you, I understand that now.

Thanks again Pekka.
