Took this mid last week, been lazy with PP. Best I could do from five minutes of quick efforts, wanted to get one side on but the lil buggers just wouldn't be predictable (these guys are a bit more predictable than normal Bees from my experience and not quite as nervous) Pity they're from behind, would have loved front on shots...still, I'm happy, these are my first in flight shots of a Bee that are sharp and well framed. I know the background is way too busy, wasn't much I could do about that I'm afraid (another reason for a side on view/shot).

Great captures Dave- think #1 works best- now get one flying towards you- just dress up as a flower :)

Thanks Omri & Brian. I think #1 is the best as well. I'm definitely going to try and get a front on or at least side on image of these beauties, but I really need to hone my in fligth shot skills, they are very poor. I get frustrated cos the damn lil buggers are so hard to judge and there are so few keepers.

They are both very good and so difficult to get a photo of, so you did well to get 2.

You need so much time and patience to get one keeper - earlier this summer I gave it a go and only managed one that I felt was just about acceptable - here is a link to the pic if you want to see it (I dont like posting my pics in other people's threads, it seems rude to do that)

Thanks Linda, at least you managed a 3/4 side on shot! As to posting shots in others threads, doesn't bother me!

I'll definitely try and get some better shots of these babies, they are quite tiny, at least a quarter of the size of a normal Bee.
