I got the Canon i9100 hook up and printed some pictures the color look great but if I print dark color pictures I can see the lines accross all over the page evently about 1/4 inch. It's seem like the page feed too fast.

I did change it to 1 (fine) to slow it down but the lines still visible.

Is there any calibrate/setting I should look into before I send it back?

Thanks and Merry X-max to all :)

Did you print a test page to see if any of your nozzles are clogged?

If it works like my S9000,

Lines sometimes crop up when printing in the wrong mode for the paper. Such as printing in plain paper mode on Glossy photo paper or printing in Photo Pro mode on plain paper.

I have learned instinctively to make sure I am printing in the right mode for the paper in the printer. It is very picky.

Tom,
I did print the test page all colors printed fine, no sign of nozzler Logged.

Tim,
I have to confess I did not check paper mode last night.

Thanks

Some applications default to "plain paper" mode that will yield output on photo paper just as you describe.

You may have to check a couple of times to make sure that the application does not reset your choice "behind you back" before it prints.

I have an i9000 and am amazed at the print quality. For quick prints, I find that the Canon Easy-PhotoPrint gives you excellent output. It has limited output settings and cropping abilities, but if the original is OK as is or has been preprocessed to what you want, you will find that it works well.

For more detailed work, nothing beats Photoshop, especially with the RAW capability in CS.
