Next weekend, I'll be going out to halfmoon bay to do some photos shoots of the bride/ friend.

My concern is if that day turns foggy, since we'll be going from 2-6pm till sunset, what kind of settings to use to take those photos? Currently, I only have the 17-55 + lens hood on my 30D.

Is there anything I need to make sure I can extract the most color and details from the background should the fog roll in?

Well, if you were shooting film I'd suggest a UV filter which would help out a little bit.... but that's obviously not the case here.

Keep the hood on which will reduce the possibilty of flare and glare. I'd also highly recommend that you shoot the job in RAW so you will have maximum latitude if any "repairs" or enhancements are needed during processing. You really do add digital range when have a RAW file to play with; it's helped me on a number of wedding shots.;)

ah ha.. i forgot to mention that i only shot in RAW, cuz God know that saved a lot of my photos... even though i'm starting to get a tad bit better at the WB thing.

but would you recommend shooting some in AEB should the fog rolls in?

humm.. i'm not good in CS2... so i've been doing most of editing in DPP2.2. i guess i can only hope that the fog won't roll in around that time~
