Hi all,
I'm new the forums. I have a question about portfolios. Do you keep a print portfolio? If so, what kind of album do you use to show it? What size photos are in it?
Thanks!

I keep a printed portfolio of about 40 (plu or minus a few) 8X10's. I have put them in a fairly expensive real wood album.
I have also done one wedding from beginning to end in a bound book format that I can show. Some of the pages in this are full 8X10's while others are a collage of smaller sizes and some pages illustrate the kind of things that we are capable of providing through photoshop, soft effects, etc.
The last three weddings that I have gotten, they made the decision off of my online gallery. They never asked to see a printed version at all.

I do much the same as ssim. I have a very extensive online gallery so people get a good idea of my photographic style, but I also meet clients to show them a selection of about 30 8x10's and then have a full wedding album so potential clients can see what they will receive, and also they realize that all the photos will be of quality and I am not just showing them my 30 best photos.

I have nothing in print. Everything of mine is shown either on a laptop or on my 32" LCD in the studio. I don't have a sample album at all. And nobody I consult with ever asks for them either. :)

I have a sample wedding album I did, 6x8", and I have a Queensberry album designed and ready to be ordered. I also have a DVD show, and my website has many images on it. I keep a few prints around for people to see as well.

I have several prints hanging on the wall for clients to see, a 30 page album (the brand I offer) with some of my best photo's in it (7x10's & some 10x10 collages,) a parent album (30 5x7's in an album I offer,) an album with a complete set of 4x6 proofs (start to finish of one wedding,) and my charm ;)
