I purchased my equipment from suggestions from this site, I am really happy with them, this Saturday will be the reason for my purchases, my sons first wrestling tournament of the season, in a gym with poor lighting.

Im still new to this and I know I need to read and study about it more, but I never have time, but if you can give me suggestions as to what setting on the camera or any advice at all will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
R.G.

Depending on how close to the action you can get, either the 85mm, or the 50mm. You'll probably have to shoot at a wide aperture, but probably not wide open. Try Av mode in order to control lens aperture, adjust iso to get a good hand holdable shutter speed. Try not to shoot completely wide open on the lenses as your depth of field will be quite narrow. Use the 1/focal length rule of thumb for keeping your shutter speed high enough to avoid camera shake.

Congratulations on the purchase of the equipment. That is a very nice package of good that you got there. :)

Good luck with the shots that you take for your son's tournament. My son has another soccer game tomorrow, so I will be out there running back and forth.

Post some pics when you get a chance.
