This is for Dante but may be of intrest to others :)
its made from one of those large fishing unbrella's you just need to make sure the ajuster bit will fit on your monpod i used plastic metal to glue mine on but it was a VERY tight fit anyway.
one thing you need to do before putting it togather is flaten out the other end of the spike a LITTLE i.e the oposite end - this is so you cant pull it out of the ajuster/ monopod -so stops you from pulling it all the way out, i find this handy as i just grab the spike and pull then it stops, then just tighten the brass screw to lock it.
My spike is about 1 foot long when fully out.
by the way i did use one from an old broken unbralla so it cost nothing :)
